This year the French literary season began in earnest on the 31st of August with some revolutionary news: e-books are here to stay !
In true Asterix fashion and for the first time in France’s publishing history, a group of twenty-three key players gathered under the ‘Une Autre Rentrée Littéraire’  banner to offer an e-alternative to the rather short-sighted and e-bookphobe St Germain-des-Prés.
Many e-book publishers have emerged in France in the last few years with a wide range of exciting titles and small price tags. Having previously been mocked, this ‘new wave’ is now being emulated, with a certain amount of cynicism, by France’s publishing elite...
